Nurture Group
The Nurture Group exists to help new converts develop a greater understanding of the Word and to apply it to their lives. It is designed to help individuals become mature and effective believers who are confident in their faith.
The Nurture Group helps new converts to build their Christian foundation by equipping and empowering members for service and establishing fellowship within the Nurture Group and the Church.
New converts are encouraged to attend as many classes as possible.
This will build their confidence in their faith as they begin their new walk with Christ.
If you are a new Christian, looking to be baptised or want to learn basic teachings about the Christian faith, please contact Rev Michael Hosang on 07958 247215, so we can add you to our Nurture WhatsApp group.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Why Should I be a 'Christian'?
Every one is guilty of sin. We all do wrong things, think wrong things, and say wrong things. Because of the error of mankind we were all condemned to an eternity away from God.
But, ‘God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in Him may not be lost, but have eternal life’. John 3:16
You should become a Christian so that you will have eternal life.
What does it mean to be saved?
To be preserved, delivered and protected from the evil one, sin and eternal death.
The bible says in John 5:24 “I tell you the truth, whoever hears what I say and believes in the One who sent me has eternal life. That person will not be judged guilty but has already left death and entered life.” (New Century Version).
When we believe in Jesus Christ He saves us from judgement and allows us to live forever with Him in eternity.
How do I become a Christian?
The bible says in Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved.” (New Century Version)
The bible says in the book of Acts 4:12 “there is no other name under heaven and earth whereby men shall be saved but by the name of Jesus.” (New Century Version). This means that you can only be saved through Jesus Christ not by any other thing you do, your good behaviour, your money, or another religion. Only through Jesus Christ.
Why is it important to Pray?
Prayer is our way to talk to God. When we first become a Christian we say a prayer asking for forgiveness and acceptance as one of His children. You can say this prayer aloud as a confession of your faith in Jesus:
Where do you start?
Dear LORD Jesus,
I thank you for your love,
I believe that you are the son of God and that you rose again.
I know that I am a sinner and that my wrong and my sin has separated me from you.
I am really sorry, and I want to turn away from my past sinful life towards you
I want you to come into my life, to be made new.
I accept Jesus Christ as my LORD and Saviour, to rule in my heart, from this say forward
Please send your Holy Spirit to help me, and I accept you, right now, in Jesus name
Amen.
If you have said that Prayer, Welcome to the Family of God!
